FAQ

Q: When can I expect my print music order to reach me?

A: Every effort is made to have your print music order in the mail to you within 14 business days of your purchase. (PDF orders are instantaneous: you are sent a link from which you may immediately download your music.)

Q: How do you ship print orders?

A: UPS or US Mail, depending on the size of the order. Orders are mailed either from New York City or from Rhinebeck, New York.

Q: Can I RUSH order print music?

A: Yes. Please plan ahead: print orders required to leave our office within 1 business day of your contact will be charged a "rush fee" of $25 in place of the customary $15 "shipping and handling" fee. This fee does not cover expedited shipping charges. You must telephone Neil Erickson at Burning Sled (US 347.684.1640) to stipulate a RUSH print order. Please be prepared to provide your order number when asked for it.

Q: Can I RUSH order rental library materials?

A: Yes. Please plan ahead: rental library orders required to leave our office within 7 business days of your contact will be charged a "rush fee" of $75. This fee does not cover expedited shipping charges. You must telephone Neil Erickson at Burning Sled (US 347.684.1640) to stipulate a RUSH rental library order. Please be prepared to provide your order number when asked for it.

Q: What's the deal with the $15 "shipping and handling" fee?

A: Postage averages from $5-$8 per order; envelopes average $1.50; time spent filling your order and taking it to the post office is about an hour (@$15/hr); Paypal deducts an average of $2 from each order as a transaction handling fee. The typical total cost to Burning Sled is about $20 per order.

Q: Then why don't I just order the piece as a PDF download?

A: Burning Sled encourages customers to download music in PDF format and therefore steeply discounts the cost of downloads from our storefront. By composer request, some pieces are not available for instant PDF downloading.

Q: Do you ship on the weekends?

A: No.

Q: What if there is a problem with my download?

A: Feel free to call Neil Erickson (US 347.684.1640) if your download doesn't work. If there is a problem with the storefront, he will contact our webmaster, who will fix the link. Neil will immediately fill your order himself at the time of your telephone call. Please be prepared to provide your order number when asked for it. You may also Email Neil at neil@burningsled.org.

Q: What if 16 business days have gone by and I still have not received my print order?

A: Contact Neil Erickson at the number above. He will be able to tell you when and where the package was mailed. Very occasionally, shipments are lost by the US Mail. Burning Sled is not responsible for the US Mail's failure to perform. However, we will refill your order by the end of the next business day at no extra cost to you.

Q: How can I contact Daron Hagen or Gilda Lyons about my shipping?

A: You can't. They have nothing to do with order fulfillment. For non-publishing, music-related questions, you may reach them through their websites.
